Stamford 2nd XI vs  Bedford Girls' School
On: Saturday, 16 Sep 2017
Venue: Away

2nd XI v Bedford Girls School (1-3).

The first away game of the season didn't quite have the intensity of last week's home game against Felsted. A steady warm up resulted in a below par first 10 minutes, with regular ball turnover and a lack of possession. A smaller squad enabled some consistency to be established on the pitch and, despite conceding in the first half, the girl's resilience resulted in a penalty corner being won, and converted just second before half time.

In the second half Bedford game out fighting. They were stronger on the ball, denied us space in the D and broke on the counter attack leaving us out of position and on the back foot. A converted penalty corner followed by a goal hungry Bedford striker getting on yet another of Brit Ellis' fantastic saves, resulted in a final score of 1-3.

Excellent work-rate from Sasha Pollock, Katie Rickett, Lucy Wattam, Tilly Adcock and Brit Ellie to name a few showed what potential this team have. Well done girls.
