Stamford U'15s A vs. Rugby School U'15s A

A sunny yet frosty afternoon at Rugby saw the first goal taken well by the hosts instead the first two minutes, after turnover ball in the centre of midfield. To Stamford's credit, they hit straight back with well-worked play down the right by Rafa Parker-Humby and Archie Dickie-Meadows allowing Connor Packer to slot the ball away at the back post.

Rugby responded in positive fashion, scoring on the counter to again lead 2-1. It was the next ten minutes where Stamford applied concerted pressure on the Rugby goal but ultimately to no avail. Stanley Brake had some good opportunities at the back post and the visitors won two short corners. Rugby rode the storm and managed to bag another goal before the half-time break.

The second half saw Rugby reassert themselves as the dominant force and a superb tica-taca goal (from a Stamford short corner) put the game beyond the visitors. Despite this Stamford still pressed and harassed to get a second goal. Just before Rugby added a fifth, a scoreline that only in part told the story of the game. Stamford were ultimately left to rue missed chances in the first half.

Result: Stamford U'15s A 1 - 5 Rugby School U'15s A
