Stamford U'15s A vs. The Leys School U'15s A

The second game of the season, with this one being a, "friendly," versus The Leys School. The Leys scored first after just 2mins before the visitors could settle. The visitors did then settle and were rewarded with their first, sustained attack with Tom Dancy slotting in at the back post. 10 minutes then past with both sides pressing but ultimately not finding the killer pass..., then all of a sudden the game was reminiscent of the famous Liverpool-Newcastle games of the 1990s! The Leys took the lead on the right hand side with Stamford waltzing through the centre and Rafa Parker-Humby flicking it past the stranded. 2-2. Then, in a blink of an eye, a Leys aerial from the restart saw the scoreboard change to 3-2. The hosts scored a fourth on the half-time whistle.

A quick Stamford goal at the start of the second half is what was desired by the coach - it was not to be! In fact, it was three goals for The Leys which secured the result in a dreadful 8min spell for the visitors. Once the wobble had ceased, Stamford bedded back into the game and to their credit, pressed and hassled The Leys with good passes from Jake Leeds and Ben Saunders just failing to hit the strikers at the back posts. It was ultimately, too little, too late mind.

Result: Stamford U'15s A 2 - 7 The Leys School U'15s A
