U14 Girls Crowned County Champions

The girls were looking forward to putting the pieces together and showing the opposition what they had learnt over the first couple of weeks into the season. With only one match on the cards the team only had one shot at getting it right. Within minutes of the whistle the team were having their first shots on goal. With the majority of the possession individuals were under pressure to protect the ball and show off their skills. Although the defenders were put to the test during counter attacks from the opposition they were able to keep cool and have the support of the midfield to regain possession and make their way back up the pitch. Work rates from Isla, Hollie and Kitty were boasted with the improved performances from Imy, Jess and Kitty. The team were delighted to get the first goal under their belt and continued to put another 5 by the keeper including a great first touch shot into the back of the net from Yola.

With the less experienced opposition putting many bodies in front of the ball made our girls have to think about their game and maintain a decent structure and not panic.

A strong win from the girls to be crowned county champions and a deserved win for the team who continue to improve. Some work to still be done before the regional rounds but I have no doubt the team will remain committed and focused on their performance.

Well done to all involved and I look forward to the next stage in the teams developments.
